 Your success in this class will be a product of the consistency of your study and homework habits.  Being organized, prepared, conscientious, and present each day will greatly enhance your learning process.  You are a student whose job and responsibility is to be the best student that you can be!

Class Grading Percentages:

Classwork/Homework: 20%

Quizzes: 25%

Tests: 40%

EOCT 15%

Classwork/Homework:Students will have a warm up every day except for test days.  Class will consist of taking notes, practice problems, working in pairs, and solving problems on the white board.  There will be homework given every night except after a test.  You must ALWAYS COPY THE PROBLEM, DRAW THE PICTURES, AND SHOW ALL WORK when applicable or you will not receive credit.  Please have your name, block number, date, and assignment at the top of the paper.HOMEWORK WILL GET CHECKED RANDOMLY!!
Quizzes:    There will be at least one quiz for every chapter.  Quizzes may be announced or unannounced.  Review will be given at the teachers’ discretion. 
Tests:      There will be a test at the end of every unit.  Tests will be cumulative in order to prepare for the EOCT at the end of the semester which is worth 15% of the final grade.  There will be a review day before each test. 
Extra Help/Make Up Work:Students are responsible for all missed work.  All information from each class is located on the class website.  Missed work is due as school policy states.  There will be no make up quizzes, the grade made on the unit test will replace the missing quiz grade.  Make up tests will be offered every Tuesday morning and afternoon.  Extra help is available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings by appointment in Ms. Howlette’s classroom.
Classroom Expectations:
  1. Be on time – be in your assigned seat with your homework out and be ready to start the warm up when the bell rings.
  2. Be respectful – do not talk while the teachers are talking, remain in your seat unless given permission to do otherwise, the teachers not the bell will dismiss the class, do not touch other people’s belongings.
  3. No electronics – there is to be no cell phone use in the classroom at any time – no exceptions.  Music may be listened to ONLY on tests days once your test is handed in.
  4. Basic Housekeeping – no food or drink other than water allowed in the classroom, use the time given in between classes to use the restroom.
Consequences: 
  1. Verbal warning
  2. Verbal warning and phone call home
  3. Teacher detention and phone call home – detention is to be served within one week
  4. Administrative referral and phone call home.
